Don't teach him how to laugh. Don't show him how to cry. It's kinder to leave him the way he is. Unable to feel. Unable to break free. Unable to just be. It may seem cruel to do this to someone who wonders what it's like to exist like everyone else, but it's the only way. He doesn't say it out loud, and he even refuses to admit it sometimes, but he knows that this is for the best.
